1994-P 1 oz Silver American Eagle PCGS PR70 DCAM
History
American Silver Eagles are the world’s most popular coin, Issued annually, containing One Troy Ounce of .999 Fine Silver, and with reasonable premiums, it’s hard to beat them. And they qualify for inclusion in Precious Metal IRAs, so they offer a lot of advantages.
In 1986, the American Silver Eagle bullion coin program was begun. They were struck in both Brilliant Uncirculated and Proof methods of manufacturing.
The major grading services certify thousands and thousands of American Silver Eagles. Because not all of these coins, especially the Mint State coins, were of varying degrees of perfection, the grading services can identify which ones are perfect and can add value, sometimes significant value, to the uncertified coin. These grading companies, for a fee, authenticate, grade, and encapsulate the coins. But not all grading services are equal.
The three primary grading services that add value are reliable are the Certified Acceptance Corporation (CAC), the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), and the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS). The coins graded by these companies are considered to be accurately and very consistently graded. Hence, they are more valuable than coins that are not certified.
Design
This coin is a 1994-P (for the Philadelphia Mint) American Silver Eagle in Proof condition. It was graded as Proof-70 DACM (Deep Cameo) by PCGS and is virtually perfect. Coins in this state of preservation are always in high demand.
