History
Due to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II in September of 2022, the coronation of her heir, Prince Charles, took place on May 8, 2023. Prince Charles was coronated as “King Charles III.”
To honor their new monarch, the Royal Mint created numerous new and old design coins, but with all bearing the image of the new king of Great Britain.
One new coin that was created by the Royal Mint was a 2023 Coronation 10 Pound, 5 Troy Oz Silver Proof coin. This large size coin was made in a very limited mintage of only 1,500 coins worldwide.
