2023-P Peace Dollar CAC Graded MS70 First Day
2023-P Peace Dollar CAC Graded MS70 First Day
In 2021, the United States Mint began striking coins that honored the 100th anniversary of the ending of the Morgan Silver Dollar series in 1921 and the creation of the 1921 Peace Silver Dollar, also in that same year. It was a little bit of an unusual event to have two different design types of the same denomination in the same year. But both of these series, Morgan, and Peace Silver Dollars, are very well collected and are important American coins.   So, the Mint began striking both Morgan and Peace Silver Dollars, in both Uncirculated and in Proof methods of manufacture and they began selling them to the public. For collectors of the older series, it is unusual to be able to find and afford a number of dates of Proof Morgans. There are only two dates of the original Peace Dollar series when proof coins were actually struck – 1921 and 1922 – and in all grades these rare coins were struck in such limited numbers that the pricing starts at $70,000 are rises from there.   The original Peace Silver Dollar was designed by Anthony de Francisci, an Italian immigrant. The coin bears a depiction of Miss Liberty, facing left, wearing a crown with rays protruding from it. The word, “LIBERTY,” adorns the upper periphery while “IN GOD WE TRUST,” is separated at “TRUST” by Miss Liberty’s neck. Using the classical Roman style of lettering, the word “TRUST” utilizes a “V” instead of a “U,” so that it is spelled “TRVST.”  The date is displayed below the truncation of Miss Liberty’s neck. The obverse was modeled after de Francisci’s wife, Teresa.   The reverse of the coin depicted an American bald eagle, perched on a boulder on which the word “PEACE,” has been inscribed. The rays of the sun are emanating in the background while the upper periphery displays, “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” in two lines and “ONE DOLLAR,” is separated by the eagle. The design is faithfully reproduced on both sides of this coin and the only difference is the date of “2023” and a visible “P” mintmark.  This coin has been graded by Certified Acceptance Corporation (CAC), a major, independent, third-party grading service as “MS70” with the important notation of “FIRST DAY OF DELIVERY,” which means that this coin was delivered to CACG as early as possible, and this coin was among the earliest coins of this date struck. The grade - MS70 - indicates the coin is of the highest condition possible.     Simply click the “Add to Cart” button now or call to speak to one of our highly trained numismatists, who will be very happy to assist you.

A LITTLE STICKER MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE.

Within each number of the coin grading scale is a small range of condition from low-end to high-end. Certified coins of the same grade can be of varying quality. Many of today’s collectors want coins that are solid or premium quality for their assigned grade. CAC holds coins to a higher standard so you can be confident in the value of yours. We verify previously graded coins … and award our sticker only to those coins that meet the standard for today’s selective buyer.

WHAT THE CAC STICKER MEANS:

  • Verified. Your coin has been verified as meeting the standard for strict quality within its grade.
  • Guaranteed. CAC stands behind our verification.

THE CAC STICKER IS BACKED BY EXPERIENCE.

CAC was founded by leading members of the numismatic community, including John Albanese, a respected authority on coin grading and the rare coin market.
