Obverse Details
Each Morgan Dollar Silver Coin features a distinguished left-profile portrait of Liberty on the obverse. This representation of Liberty showcases her wearing a Phrygian cap, which gracefully gathers much of her hair, complemented by a laurel wreath atop her head and a coronet inscribed with "LIBERTY." Surrounding the design are 13 stars, symbolizing the original colonies, with the year of issue displayed beneath Liberty's bust and the motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" positioned above.
Reverse Details
The reverse of the Morgan Dollar Silver Coins unveils George T. Morgan's rendition of the heraldic eagle, notably absent of the US National Shield. Instead, it presents an eagle facing forward, clutching the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace in its talons. The inscriptions encircling this imagery include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "ONE DOLLAR."
A Time Capsule of American Coinage
One of the most notable features of the GSA Hoard Silver Dollars is the inclusion of "GSA holder" coins. These are encapsulated in special holders with the GSA logo and a certificate of authenticity, adding an extra layer of provenance and collectibility to these already prized coins. Over the years, GSA Hoard Silver Dollars have become cherished additions to many coin collections, valued for their historical significance, rarity, and often exceptional condition. They represent a time capsule of America's monetary history and continue to captivate collectors and enthusiasts alike. Today, GSA Hoard Silver Dollars remain highly sought-after in the numismatic market, with certain dates and varieties commanding significant premiums due to their scarcity and desirability among collectors.
